Meet Elizabeth!

Elizabeth Helsabeck (HEL-sa-beck) is a natural-born performer from North Carolina who loves all things music. With a background in music, dance, theater, and visual art, she is always one to take to the stage. Elizabeth has an immense appreciation and passion for all different forms of art and expresses her own desires to bring them together in unique ways. Elizabeth is currently finishing her junior year at Appalachian State University, working towards her Bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance.

Originally starting out on violin and piano at age four, Elizabeth first started playing percussion in her middle school band, where she instantly fell in love with it. Having the freedom to go to different instruments spoke to her and it was clear she had a certain skill for bringing musicality to not-so-melodic instruments. Once entering high school, Elizabeth joined her high school's marching band and theater troupe, broadening her experiences even further. One of Elizabeth's favorite memories regarding percussion to this day is getting to play timpani on Dvořák's New World Symphony while fighting an ear infection she got while attending the UNCG Summer Music Camp.

Elizabeth is always on the lookout for new compositions and performance opportunities, so feel free to reach out to her below:

As a student at Appalachian State University, Elizabeth enjoys playing multiple styles of music including classical, chamber, percussion ensemble, marching band, and steel band works. She loves how versatile percussion as a section is and has a fondness for mallet percussion and timpani. Her interests lie in classical music, film scores, and musical theater with her current goal being to further her career as a musician in local orchestras and in the pit for musicals.

Outside of music, Elizabeth loves to spend time with her dad and her dog (Minnie), reading, drawing, hanging out with friends, and overanalyzing kids cartoons.
